Superbowl thoughts

I wanted to wait before posting my thoughts on last nights Superbowl. I am still trying to decide where it ranks among the previous ones. It has to be up there as one of the biggest upsets of all time. Very few people honestly thought the Giants had a real chance to win. Kudos to those that did. For me I did not really care either way. I am not a fan of either team. I will say I was hoping for a good game and in the second half was openly rooting for the Giants. Why? Because I cannot stand Bill Belichick. I still have a bad taste from when he was the coach of the Browns. Yes, I can hold a grudge for a long time. And he really showed his class when he ran off the field when there was still one second on the clock. His defense had to get themselves on the field so the final play could be run. Would it have been better if they won and were the second team to finish undefeated? After spygate and the way they shamelessly ran up the scores early in the season I say no. Karma has a way of coming back and biting you in the ass. The Patriots found that out last night...

listen...i believed in the giants the whole time, and not just because i am a giants fan. i knew that they were the only team that would be able to beat them, esp. after the last game of the regular season, when they came within three points of winning.

and i understand your dislike for belichick...but i can't help wonder that if we would have kept him back then (even though he got rid of kosar), and let him do with the browns as he would...would we be superbowl champs? the man knows his stuff when it comes to the game.

but in the end...even brady couldn't stand up (pun intended) against the g-men's d., and a one handed catch on the helmet. i love it...

That is the one thought that will haunt all Browns fans. If Belichick stayed would he have built the Browns into Superbowl contenders? A large part of his success in New England is an owner who gives him the money and resources to do his job. I am not sure if he would have had the same things here. At least that is what I tell myself to justify my response. We already have to live with the fact that George Steinbrenner tried to buy the Indians back in 1971 and when he was turned down he bought the Yankees the following year. You have to wonder what success the Indians may have had if he was successful in his initial bid.
