RIAA's greed shows no limit
Imagine you are the RIAA. You are losing money and looking for ways to increase profits. Hey let's sue people who are illegally downloading music. Despite constant lawsuits, many of which have been thrown out of court, illegal downloading continues at even higher rates. Ok, that didn't work. Well, we can't make less money so let's cut the royalty rates paid to artists. Right now artists get 13% on digital downloads. If the cuts go through they will only get 9%. And if the cuts Apple is asking for they will only get 4%. So either 91% or 96%, depending on which cuts go through, will actually go to the artist that created the work. We live in one messed up country...
