Baseball records...

An interesting weekend for baseball. Barry Bonds hits number 755 to tie Hank Aaron for the all time homerun record. Alex Rodriguez hits home run number 500 to be the youngest player ever to do so. And last and not least Tom Glavine wins number 300. So which one was the most important? Depends on your point of view. Hank Aaron's record seemed to be unbeatable even with the increase in home runs the last decade or so. I always thought that was one of the records that would never be beat. Steroids and other illegal drugs are changing the playing field so who knows how many other hitting records that will fall. Arod hitting number 500 at his age makes him a strong possibility to break whatever homerun number Barry ends up at anyway. I was happy to catch the end of Tom Glavine's win. I have followed his career since he started and was very happy to see him hit number 300. I also think that may be the last pitcher to do so for a long time. The way pitchers get hurt now and how few innings they pitch mean their chances to win 300 games are very slim. Cy Young's 511 wins will never be matched let alone broken.

If you are any kind of baseball fan it was a good weekend indeed...
