Baseball records part 2...
It happened. Barry hit number 756 tonight and I was able to watch it live on tv. 33 years ago I saw Hank Aaron pass Babe Ruth as the all time home run leader and now I get to see Barry pass Hank. As a baseball fan it does not get any better. Love Barry or hate him--think he took performance enhancing drugs or not--no one can deny the incredible achievement. Hitting a round ball with a round bat when you only have a fraction of a second to decide is beyond comprehension. I tip my hat to Barry. I admit I don't like him personally, but I cannot deny his skill. Simply amazing...

'performance enhancing drugs' is just a nice way to say doper. period. he does drugs.
at least in cycling, when dopers are found out, they get kicked out of the sport for a period of time (two years, at least), and then maybe after that not even welcomed back into the sport. baseball just turns a blind eye. the guy from the browns gets suspended for four games? what the hell? big freaking whoop. he's still going to make millions of dollars. where's the punishment?
don't get me wrong...i enjoy baseball, but i just want an honest game. if doping is 'o.k.' as a form of cheating...why not start 'corking' the bats? why not put crap on the ball (like what's his nuts from the tigers)? why? because those are things that we as the watchers of the game are able to see. we don't see the guy doing his dope, so it's o.k. do we just fall into the philosophy of 'what we don't know can't hurt us'?
in conclusion...i will deny the achievement. it is not incredible.
sorry...have to go against you on this one.
