Main Street Grill and Brewing in Garrettsville, Ohio
The wife and I went out to do some photography today. After driving around we decided to head out to Garrettsville, Ohio and try the Main Street Grill and Brewing Company. I should have listened to the bells going off in my head when our server suggested us getting the sampler of their beers. She explained this way we could decide what we liked and did not like since once we ordered a beer we could not send it back. We went ahead and ordered two different beers. I got the Porter. Worst beer I have ever tasted. And when I told the server her response was that microbrews taste different than regular beers. What?? How could she say that with a straight face? As if I have never had a microbrew before. I still can't believe she said that. What server is going to tell the customer they don't know what they are talking about and not offer to make it right? So that was strike two--crap beer and a server who did not care. We were not about to try the food and give them a chance at strike three. Never ever ever go there. I would gladly drink Pabst or Bud before I would ever consider their beers again.

Okay, to play devil's advocate for a moment, how was the server to know you're a (and I say this knowing your drinking habits and that I'm in the same category as you) beer elitist? I mean if we'd heard some yokel say something about a Ringneck beer at The Kettle wouldn't we think they were some Bud-swilling idiot who didn't know what a decent brew should taste like?
As for the rest of it...well, no offer to replace the beer is just bad form...
Where the heck is Garrettsville anyway?
Well I have been to the main street grille NUMEROUS times and I have NEVER had a bad experience. It is a great place to go and eat. All of their food is AMAZING and the micro brews are great! And to comment on what you said about your server... well I dont think she was a mind reader so she wouldnt know that you have tasted many micro brews in your time... so no I definetly dont think she was being rude in any way because I have never had bad service there... And you definetly should have tried to food... you could have just ordered a Bud with your meal and you would have been just fine! EVERYONE SHOULDNT BELIEVE HIS COMMENT-TRY THE MAIN STREET GRILLE AND BREWING COMPANY- YOU WONT BE SORRY!
mh86 it is interesting that you feel strongly enough to create a blogger account just so you can comment on my blog. I have to say that is a first for me. And you are entitled to your opinion as am I. We tried 2 of the 6 beers on tap and they were both undrinkable. That is the bottom line. If 1/3 of your beers are that bad why should I stay for the food? I wish you luck because we need more microbreweries.
