The 9/11 hype...
Today marks the 7th anniversary of 9/11. I made the mistake of leaving the tv tuned to the news this afternoon. They went on and on about how our whole world has changed since 9/11. Excuse me? Unless you live in New York or had someone on one of the planes or impact sites how did it change your world? I know it did not change mine. I do nothing different today than I did before that date. The only noticeable change for me is when I need to fly and have to go through the added security at the airport. Otherwise nothing is different. And that is how it should be. To change how we live only lets the terrorists win. To go on and on about it only gives power to the terrorists. I am so tired of the Republicans trying to make us live in a perpetual state of fear of the next attack. Instead of focusing on the real issues at home they want us to focus on some mythical attack coming at any moment. I am not saying we should forget what happened--just that we do not need to make it the focus of how we live our lives.
