Combat Deaths...
I am way behind in my reading. Trying to catch up with some of my magazines I came across this article in Newsweek. One part really caught my attention--over the last 20 years the most deaths in combat have been caused by the machete. That just boggles my mind. Guns, bombs, etc. are less than the lowly machete. I wish they would have put the source of this fact in the article. I wonder if the Rwanda genocide is the reason for this. It is easy to say we need to reduce the number of nuclear weapons, guns, or bombs in the world. Can we ever say we need to reduce the number of machetes? I guess it just reinforces the idea that people will always find a way to kill whomever they perceive as their enemy...
