How hard is it to pick a teddy bear's name...
I have been holding off blogging anything about this. When her sentence was only 15 days in jail and deportation I was relieved. She could have easily received 40 lashes or worse. Did I just write that? There are places in the world where that is the possible punishment for letting children pick the name of a teddy bear? And after the lenient sentence she received thousands march in the street in protest armed with knives, axes and clubs? Can anyone in this country imagine such a scene? Can we imagine why we would ever want to be in this region? At least the Muslims living in the U.K. were quick to condemn the actions of the Sudanese. There is hope that we can live together in peace. Right?

i hear what you're saying; however my thought was 'how could this woman be so stupid?' meaning that with all that is going on around the world, and in that part of the world much less. did she think that was going to be a good idea? if this happened in the u.k. or u.s. i don't think that there would have been that much of an uproar.
peace? nope. not as long as the radical (i don't care if we speak of muslims, christians, atheist) people always have a bitch. my question is why do we entertain these people? they are the minority in the political realm. the issue is that this minority bitches enough, and loud enough that we then look to them to make policy, and not the majority.
