Darwin and the Beagle
Today is the anniversary of one of the most famous voyages in history. On December 27, 1831 the HMS Beagle set sail from England on its proposed two year survey. The two years turned into five which gave Charles Darwin ample opportunities to study local plant and animal life. Biology was never the same. Which is a good thing...

Your great description of the Darwin expedition reminds me of the Master and Commander film, I love that movie! I love the part where the doctor is going about the island looking for specimens. Wouldn't it have been fascinating to be the first white man to see some of those animals and insects? What an age of discovery it was....

on your blog you make what is called a 'category mistake.' on your blog you make a distinction between what you call (and i quote) 'creation'; which you then proceed to call 'intelligent design', and that of 'evolution'.
the problem is, is that the argument from creation is much different than the argument of intelligent design. you can't combine the two. the two are totally different, and separate from each other. they are not co-equal. they are not identical. a � b.
i hope you understand these difference before you proceed with this discussion.
and just an added note...darwin was not an atheist.
