They still do this...
I can't believe public schools still do this. "One nation, under god"? Which god? or gods? and a sizable part of the population does not even believe in a god. There is a reason for separation of church and state...
I agree with you! It's a public school, they shouldn't have to force people to say 'under God' and should take it out of the Pledge of Allegiance totally.
I'm reading Fast Food Nation and the author discusses how liberal Colorado has turned right wing from an influx of ultra-conservative Californians. The conservative group Focus on the Family is even based in Colorado Springs. This breaks my heart, I remember the Colorado of my childhood that was full of hippies, bikers and rough and tumble free-thinking characters. What happened?!
