This is just unbelievable. It boggles the mind that such a high percentage of women find it acceptable. Again I ask why are we even in this region trying to help? Our values mean nothing here. If it is just about the oil then say it out loud and just take it. Don't try to disguise it in human rights or democracy. The whole region just defies understanding...

Rape victim wins case--gets 200 lashes...

Explain again why we are in the Middle East? These are the people we consider our ally? A woman is raped and to add to her torment lets throw in 200 lashes. Not for her rapists--for her. How messed up is that? It is all about the oil. Always has been and always will. We call ourselves the greatest nation in the world. We hold ourselves up as the beacon of freedom. And yet we have no problem aligning ourselves with people like these if it will get us what we want. We tell ourselves it is for the greater good. Let's say that 3 times and see if we feel any better. I bet this poor woman won't....
