WaMu goes under

We now have the largest bank failure in history. Add to that the largest insurance company and Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae. All under the watch of a Republican president. Can there still be anyone out there who is considering voting for McCain?

Rich get richer...

In these difficult economic times isn't it good to know that the rich continue to get richer? I guess Bush has done his job. The republicans must be so proud. The gains for after tax income for the bottom 40% of the population was than than 3% from 2003-2005! But the top 1% managed to beat that mark by a whopping 43.5%. It is good to be part of the wealthy elite...

Mission Accomplished...

It looks like Bush has managed to accomplish one of his main goals. His policies have made the rich richer and the poor poorer. Way to go Bush! Yesterday's Wall Street Journal had an article showing the wealthiest 1% of Americans earned 21.2% of all income in 2005. This is the highest total since the 1920s. And as Bush talks up the economy and low unemployment, the median tax filer's income has fallen 2% when adjusted for inflation between 2000-2005 while the top 1% has seen theirs grow by 3%.
